Victoria Monét has achieved a new certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The Grammy winner’s 2020 interlude “We Might Even Be Feeling In Love” is now certified gold. It has sold over 500,000 equivalent units.
“We Might Even Be Falling In Love” is Monét’s second solo RIAA award. In March, her breakout single “On My Mama” was certified platinum with over one million equivalent units sold. Before that, in 2020, Monét scored a gold award for her feature on Machine Gun Kelly’s “A Little More.”
“We Might Even Be Falling In Love” appears on Monét’s 2020 EP, JAGUAR. The 50-second track has garnered over 137 million streams on Spotify, making it the most-streamed track from JAGUAR to date.
On Valentine’s Day 2023, Monét released a duet version of “We Might” featuring Bryson Tiller exclusively on Spotify.
“I’ve always wanted to extend the interludes from JAGUAR Part 1 and was so happy to hear Bryson liked this song enough to make it a little longer,” Monét said. “Hope you all enjoy hearing his voice on it as much as I do!”
In other news, Monét will be honored with the ASCAP Vanguard Award at the 2024 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards on June 27 in Los Angeles.
“Victoria Monét has proven herself not only as an illuminating songwriter, but also as a flourishing artist and ASCAP member who continues to break barriers,” said Paul Williams, ASCAP board chair and president. “Her resilience, talent, and exemplary work ethic have helped her become a multi-award-winning singer and songwriter. She is well-deserving of the ASCAP Vanguard Award.”
Additionally, Monét is nominated for five awards at the 2024 BET Awards, including Album of the Year (JAGUAR II) and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist. The BET Awards airs live Sunday, June 30, at 8 p.m. ET on BET.
