2025 NAACP Image Awards Nominees Announced: Usher, Keke Palmer Among Leaders

The ceremony airs Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on BET and CBS.

The NAACP has announced the nominees for the 2025 NAACP Image Awards. The star-studded ceremony will air live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, Saturday, Feb. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on BET and CBS.

Nominees were revealed Tuesday (Jan. 7) live on CBS Mornings by singer and actress Chloe Bailey (a.k.a Chlรถe) and NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson and on YouTube by actress Novi Brown and actor and singer Trevor Jackson.

Actress and singer Keke Palmer is among the leaders in overall nominations, including Entertainer of the Year. The category also includes actress/singer Cynthia Erivo, rapper Kendrick Lamar, comedian/actor Kevin Hart, and former NFL player/podcast host Shannon Sharpe. Palmer’s podcast, Baby, This Is Keke Palmer, has also landed a nomination for Outstanding Society and Culture Podcast. 

Rap act GloRilla is the most nominated in the music recording categories with six nods, followed by Usher, Kendrick Lamar, and Doechii, who each have four nominations.

Usher, who was honored with the President’s Award and won Entertainer of the Year in 2024, is also up for Oustanding Male Artist. He’s up against Chris Brown, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and October London.

The public can vote to determine the winners in select categories at the 56th NAACP Image Awards at naacpimageawards.net. Voting is open now through Feb. 7 at 12 a.m. ET.  Winners will be announced during the telecast on Feb. 22. The NAACP will also recognize winners in nonโ€“televised Image Awards categories at the 56th NAACP Image Awards Creative Honors Ceremonies Friday, Feb. 21.
