Givēon has officially launched a new era with “Twenties.”
The soul-gripping ballad hears Givēon reflecting on a long-term relationship that lasted more than half of his 20s. The track arrives just before his 30th birthday (Feb. 21), offering a moment of reflection before entering a new chapter.
“Hung onto you ’cause I didn’t know better / I just feel like time was runnin’ out / I can tell the ship was goin’ down / I was so young and dumb,” he croons.
“Twenties” has all the key ingredients to become a future hit at R&B radio — evocative lyrics, commanding vocals, and resonant instrumentation.
The heartfelt song was co-produced by Sevn Thomas, Maneesh Bidaye, Jahaan Sweet, Matthew Burnett, and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman.
“Twenties” is paired with a video directed by Loris Russier (Ella Mai, SiR, Future). In the video, a dapper Givēon performs with a live band, interspersed with vignettes of memories of his ex.

“Twenties” is the “Heartbreak Anniversary” singer’s first official single since releasing his debut album, Give Or Take, in 2022.
Regarding the latter project, he told Rated R&B, “My debut album, Give Or Take, is a collection of reminiscences over the last few years of my life. Suddenly having to adapt to a world in which there are so many eyes watching and experiencing a wide spectrum of emotions at once naturally brought these songs to the surface.”
Give Or Take included RIAA platinum-certified hit “For Tonight” and “Lie Again.” Following his debut album, Givēon contributed to the Amsterdam soundtrack (“Time“) and released his first holiday single (“The First Noel“).
Most recently, Givēon teamed up with pop-soul singer Teddy Swims for “Are You Even Real.” The track, which debuted at No. 1 on multiple Billboard charts, appears on Swims’ album I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2).
