Kevin Ross‘ latest single “Love in the Middle” is heating up on the charts.
The Louis York (Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony)-produced groove rises from No. 11 to No. 10 on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart this week, led by Leon Thomas‘ “Mutt.” It tallies Ross’ fifth top 10 hit on this chart, four of which were earned in the 2020s decade.
Here’s a breakdown of Kevin Ross’ top 10 hits on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart:
- “Long Song Away,” No. 1 peak (2016)
- “Looking For Love,” No. 9 peak (2021)
- “Sweet Release,” No. 8 peak (2022)
- “Look My Way,” No. 8 peak (2023)
- “Love in the Middle,” No. 10 peak so far (2025)
“Love in the Middle” debuted on the Adult R&B Airplay chart in early March. It is the lead single from his latest EP, Love Uptempo, Vol. 1, released in April.
“It was an absolute pleasure working on with Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony,” Ross told Rated R&B. “We wrote, produced, and recorded it in Nashville. It’s something about that city that sparks creative freedom. I believe it’s the perfect time for that record.”

Kelly commented, “It’s crazy how easy it was to work with Kevin in the studio. The chemistry was just there immediately. He knows what he’s doing, he knows his voice, he knows R&B music in a real way. ‘Love In The Middle’ is the magic you get when three friends lock-in to make a timeless love song that the people can still dance and sing along to forever.”
Harmony noted, “It’s always a pleasure when the artist knows who they are and what direction they want to go in musically. Kevin knew exactly where he wanted to go, so we explored and created something unforgettable. ‘Love In The Middle’ is a special one.”
Love Uptempo follows Ross’ 2023 EPs, Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1 and Midnight Microdose, Vol. 2. The first volume included the top 10 hit “Look My Way.”
This summer, Ross will perform shows in Oakland, Detroit, Boston and New York. Tickets are available at kevinrossmusic.com.
