Ciara is celebrating Atlanta’s Ciara Day (July 28) with brand new music. The R&B-pop star has reunited with her longtime collaborator Jazze Pha to produce her latest single “This Right Here” featuring rapper Latto.

The party-ready anthem channels the spirit of early Ciara bops like “Get Up” and her Field Mob collaboration “So What.” “This Right Here” has a bounce that will light up a dance floor or keep wheels turning on skate night at Cascade.

“CiCi, Jazze, fly over Atlanta, we ’bout to turn it up / South Side, East Side down in the cater, I gotta burn it up,” Ciara sings. Latto brings her big energy to the third verse, rapping: “A b—h from the South love a mouth full of gold / No Chanel, I’m with CC / Throw it back on ’em like Freaknik / Do you love me like Kiki? /  Might let him hit like my BBs.”

Speaking on her new single, Ciara shares, “‘This Right Here,’ is the type of collaboration I always dreamt of! Being together with my hometown friends on this record means so much to me! Also, knowing the amazing history that Jazze Pha and I have had together makes this moment extra special. I want to thank Latto for bringing her infectious ATL girl energy to this record!”

She continues, “‘This Right Here’ is one of my favorite tracks on the album and I’m so excited that my fans will get to hear this record as today is Ciara Day in Atlanta and we are getting close to kicking off the month of my album release!”

“This Right Here” follows Ciara’s “Ecstasy (Remix)” with Normani and Teyana Taylor. The original version of the intoxicating track, a top 5 hit on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, launched the campaign for Ciara’s eighth album, CiCi, which releases Aug. 22 via her label Beauty Marks Entertainment.

Regarding “Ecstasy,” Ciara shared, “On every album, having the ultimate slow R&B record is always a must for me! We call it baby-making music where I’m from! I can’t wait for the world to see the video and experience Ecstasy with me! The CiCi Way!”

CiCi follows Ciara’s 2019 album, Beauty Marks, her first project released under Beauty Marks Entertainment. The album was preceded by her hit single “Level Up,” now certified 2x platinum by the RIAA for selling over two million equivalent units in the U.S.

Since Beauty Marks, Ciara released a few standalone singles (“Jump,” “Better Thangs” with Summer Walker and “Da Girls“), before dropping her CiCi EP in 2023. The mini project included her award-winning hit “How We Roll” with Chris Brown.

The RIAA gold-certified track will also appear on Ciara’s forthcoming album, along with the other tracks from the EP. Speaking on the EP, Ciara exclusively told Rated R&B, “I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP. This project is the start of really exciting things to come.”

Circling back to “This Right Here,” it marks Ciara and Jazze Pha’s first time collaborating in nearly 20 years. Ciara, who was discovered by Pha, worked closely with him on her groundbreaking debut album, Goodies (2004), and its immortal follow-up, The Evolution (2006).

On the eve of the inaugural Ciara Day (July 27, 2024), Jazze Pha joined Ciara onstage at her Out Of This World Tour stop in Atlanta to help present new RIAA plaques from Goodies.

For the second annual Ciara Day, CiCi is back in Atlanta to open the city’s second Why Not You Center, created in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club and co-founded with her husband and NFL player, Russell Wilson. The Center is part of the power couple’s Why Not You Foundation, which focuses on education and empowerment.
