Emerging singer Raiche’s new EP, Loveland, will be released Nov. 17 via Genre Defying Entertainment/Island Prolific/Atlantic Records.
The EP’s title, originally announced as her debut album’s title, was revealed in the summer of 2022. “It’s about everyday love,” she described to Rated R&B about Loveland in July 2022.
During the same interview with Rated R&B, she explained that the process of writing and recording Loveland was therapeutic for her. “I am such an open person. I wear my heart on my sleeve. I don’t care to sometimes be brutally honest and live my truth,” said Raiche.
She continued, “I find it awful if I have to hold things back. It stresses me out. So it’s even more therapeutic in that sense where other people are like, ‘Wow. I went through that same thing’ or ‘I feel that emotion,’ or ‘you are speaking to me.'”
The tracklist for Loveland has not yet been announced. Press materials state that Raiche’s upcoming EP will feature previously released tracks, including “Late Show” and “Big Daddy,” as well as two 2022 songs, “Fool” and “Feelings.”
About the former of the last pair, Raiche told Rated R&B, “‘Fool’ is simply an honest and heartfelt breakup song. I talk candidly about my needs and why this person was constantly coming up short for me and how I can’t put up with it anymore because I’d really just be playing myself.”
Meanwhile, Raiche spoke to Rated R&B about her new song “Late Show,” which she described as sultry and melodic. She also said that fans could really hear the emotional depth of the song.
To coincide with her EP announcement, Raiche dropped another new song, “Half & Half.” It arrives with a supporting video, which can be watched below.
Loveland is Raiche’s follow-up to her 2019 debut project, Drive. The latter was released after the singles “Money Pies” and “Complicated.”
After releasing her debut EP Drive, Raiche achieved her first top 10 entry on Billboard and R&B radio with the single “Pick a Side.” A remix featuring Ty Dolla $ign arrived amid its success.
