Progressive R&B singer Raiche has released her new EP Standards via Genre Defying Ent./Island Prolific/Atlantic Records.

The eight-track set features the previously shared title track, “Girls A Gun,” “Be Careful,” “OMG” with Social House and “Hello Darlin.” It also includes the sultry “Big Daddy” from her 2023 debut album, Loveland.

Among the project’s fresh tracks is the confident anthem “Suga,” which is sweetened with a velvety bassline, spirited handclaps and regal horns. “You can’t convince me that I’m not flawless / I’m making it look good regardless / I say I’m confident / You say I’m heartless / I’m really that b–h and you know it,” Raiche declares.

On the groove-ready “Floating,” Raiche finds herself on cloud nine, lifted by love. “Nothing compares, can’t believe it’s real / Your love’s a thrill, a rush for me,” she sings.

Speaking on her new project, the expecting mother exclusively tells Rated R&B, “Standards is more than music—it’s a journal of everything I’ve been unlearning and redefining in real time. As I step into motherhood, build a new home, and let go of people-pleasing, these songs became my boundary lines and my truth-tellers. They capture the strength it takes to walk away, the softness of starting over, and the power in raising your standards—for love, for peace, and for yourself.”

Standards follows Raiche’s Making Room EP, released in November 2024. “The first part of this EP, Making Room, is about discovering myself and my view of love,” Raiche told Rated R&B.

She added, “After a tough breakup, I realized I’d been drawn to toxic relationships because I saw love through a toxic lens. Now, I understand love isn’t about extreme highs and lows—it’s about two people surrendering to each other.”

As noted above, Raiche is expecting her first child with her partner Teddy Swims, who released his second album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2), in January. The album includes his chart-topping hit “Are You Even Real” featuring Givēon, which is nominated for Best Collaboration at the 2025 BET Awards.
