Ciara takes another dose of “Ecstasy” — this time with Normani and Teyana Taylor, who appear on the official remix, out via Beauty Marks Entertainment.
Ciara opens the syrupy jam with her intoxicating chorus before Normani steps in for the first verse. “Started in the shower / Kissing all over my neck / We don’t need a towel / Pick me up and put me on the bed,” she sings.
Taylor enters midway through the track, cooing, “My body yo’ platter, come eat me / Kitty purring / The way you need it, feed it, beat it, believe that.”
“Teyana and Normani are true trailblazers, and their voices brought something really special to ‘Ecstasy,’ says Ciara. “There’s a real sisterhood between us, and it felt powerful to come together on this remix! We each brought our own sauce to the track. It’s bold, nostalgic and full of energy. The fans have been asking for this and I’m so proud of what we created.”
Normani adds, “I am beyond excited to be on Ciara’s ‘Ecstasy’ remix, being on a song with two incredible entertainers like Ciara and Teyana is actually an out-of-body experience. I have looked up to both of them for so long, they’re true legacy artists who have paved the way for a new generation and continue to empower others through their resilience, innovation, and impact. To now be on a record with them feels like a full-circle moment for me personally and an absolute honor. I am so grateful to be part of this collaboration; this is truly a celebration of powerful women in music, and I could not be prouder.”
Taylor shares, “When Ci hit me about jumping on this remix, it was an automatic yes. To be a part of this moment with two queens I love so much! Not only do I get to call Ciara and Normani my friends I get to call them my sisters! That’s black girl magic. We bringing the sensual, the sisterhood, and the soul. Let’s go!”

Ciara announced the remix Wednesday (June 4) on social media with a teaser video showing a spotlight on a chair topped with baseball caps from each artist’s hometown, sparking speculation about the featured guests. “Guess who’s coming to the Chair!:)…ECSTASY REMIX 6/6!!” she wrote on Instagram.
The original version of “Ecstasy” was released April 4 as the lead single to her upcoming eighth album, CiCi, out Aug. 22. The slow jam debuted at No. 3 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart, tallying her 11th top 10 hit out of 20 entries.
“On every album, having the ultimate slow R&B record is always a must for me! We call it baby-making music where I’m from! I can’t wait for the world to see the video and experience ‘Ecstasy’ with me! The CiCi Way!” Ciara said about the track.
Regarding CiCi, the R&B-pop star shared, “This album right here is my love letter. A celebration of the journey—and more importantly, a thank you to you, my Day 1s and Day 21s. You’ve stuck by me through every era, every evolution, and every independent leap of faith.”

CiCi, which also shares the name of her 2023 EP, will include tracks from that project, including the Chris Brown-assisted “How We Roll.”
“I wanted to curate and set the tone of my next music chapter with this EP,” Ciara told Rated R&B. “This project is the start of really exciting things to come.” She also revealed that she “recorded a lot of music during the pandemic.”
Ciara’s forthcoming album is the follow-up to 2019’s Beauty Marks. The latter project was the first body of work she released under her label Beauty Marks Entertainment. Beauty Marks included her hit single “Level Up,” which was certified 2x platinum by the RIAA for selling over two million equivalent units.
The “Ecstasy (Remix)” is Normani’s second musical appearance since releasing her debut solo album, Dopamine, in June 2024. Late in the year, she joined her “Love Lies” collaborator Khalid on “Personal” from his Sincere (Deluxe) album.

Circling back to Dopamine, which practically flew under the radar, included her 2021 track “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, plus collaborations with Gunna (“1:59“) and James Black (“Tantrums”). Fellow R&B singer Victoria Monét co-wrote the restless “Insomnia.”
Following the album’s release, Normani went relatively quiet on the music front. In November, she headlined Spotify’s RNB X‘s inaugural After Hours showcase in Washington, D.C. The intimate event also featured performances by Bryson Tiller, Leon Thomas, Destin Conrad and Ambré.
In personal news, Normani announced her engagement to NFL player DK Metcalf in March.

As for Teyana Taylor, the multitalented entertainer released her new single “Long Time,” the first offering from her new album Escape Room.
Her first album in five years will be accompanied by a short film of the same title, in which she stars alongside Aaron Pierre and LaKeith Stanfield. Further, Taylor stars in Tyler Perry’s new film Straw, opposite Taraji P. Henson and Sherri Shepherd, streaming on Netflix on Friday (June 6).
