Creating an album that has a no skips shelf life is hard to do in the current music climate. Ty Dolla $ign seems to have mastered that art and releases his new album Featuring Ty Dolla $ign.
The LP is the first project since 2018’s MIH-TY, a joint record with Jeremih, and his first full-length album Beach House 3 from a year earlier. Like his sophomore album, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign is full of star-studded collaborations, from Kanye West to Nicki Minaj to Jhené Aiko to Big Sean to Kehlani to Musiq Soulchild to Future to Young Thug and many more.
$ign’s early singles “By Yourself,” “Expensive,” and “Ego Death” make the 25-track album. Highlights include the extra nasty bedroom banger “Slow It Down” and the stereo flamer “Nothing Like Your Exes.”
Ahead of dropping Featuring Ty Dolla $ign, the Los Angeles hitmaker appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform “By Yourself.” Re-watch the performance here.
$ign recently teamed up with Brandy for an alternative version of “No Tomorrow” from her critically-acclaimed album B7. They also performed it for the first time at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards.
