Savannah Ré Shares New Song ‘Closure’

Savannah Ré doesn’t fear new challenges. The Toronto, Canada, native draws from her Jamaican roots for the new song “Closure,” which YogiTheProducer co-produced with Boi-1da and Kevins Hideout.

Heard from beginning to end, “Closure” moves in tandem with Ré’s intriguing vocals evoking toxicity and a scrambled reggae dance beat. While said to have been nervous about riding an unexpected wave than previous releases, Ré seems to have found an alternative lane to accompany when she desires a sonic revival.

She sings in the chorus, “Call me back when you’re sober / Call me back when you need love / Call me back for some closure If you call me back, I’m gon’ hold you.”

“It’s different than any other record I’ve released to date. But with my new EP No Weapons I really wanted to start showing the different sides of myself, including my 🇯🇲 heritage,” Ré wrote on Instagram.

“Closure” is lifted from Ré’s upcoming EP, No Weapons. So far, she has forked out three other songs this year, including “Fiji” and “Last One,” featuring Dylan Sinclair. A month before her latest, she debuted “About You.” No official release details have been announced, nor an official tracklist to tie the last three mentioned songs to No Weapons.

Perhaps Ré might include “24hrs,” a June 2021 release, on No Weapons. In any event, we’ll make sure to keep you updated.

No Weapons will follow Ré’s debut EP Opia. Released in November 2020, the nine-song effort was powered by its focus singles, “Solid” and “Where Are You.” In a 2020 interview with Rated R&B, Ré broke down every song from Opia.

On Oct. 14, Ré will perform her new and existing material at her debut hometown show. The set takes place at Phoenix Concert Theatre in Toronto. Find out more information on how to get tickets for the upcoming show here.
