Ari Lennox is hitting the promo trail to support her sophomore album, age/sex/location, out Sept. 9 via Dreamville/Interscope Records.

The Grammy-nominated singer posted a flyer of daily events planned leading up to Friday’s release. Each event is titled after a song from Lennox’s album.

Kicking off Tuesday, Sept. 6, Lennox will host “Leak It,” a private album listening event in New York City, New York. On Wednesday (Sept. 7), Lennox will return to her hometown Washington, D.C. for “Queen Space,” a comedy show hosted by KevonStage at DC Winery.

On Thursday (Sept. 8), she will celebrate DC’s go-go music at “Pressure,” presented by Sirius Company. On Friday (Sept. 9), Lennox will celebrate age/sex/location at her official album release party hosted by Amazon R&B Rotation. It will be held in D.C., as well as Thursday’s event.

Lennox will return to New York City on Sunday (Sept. 11) for a special live performance at an undisclosed location.

Age/sex/location will include Lennox’s previously shared singles “Hoodie” and “Pressure.” The latter track, which is certified gold by the RIAA, was released as the lead single on Sept. 10, 2021. The catchy tune peaked at No. 1 on the R&B radio chart in late January, as well as on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marked Lennox’s first chart-topper at radio.

Rapper J. Cole, the founder of Dreamville, recently shared a screenshot of a lengthy text message from Lennox that explained what age/sex/location means to her. Lennox mentioned that the album represents a “transitional space” in her life, as she no longer will allow herself to ignore red flags in relationships.

“I remember the countless times I was kicked out of dating apps because they didn’t think I was really myself. It reminded me of those age/sex/location days where I actually wasn’t being myself in those chat rooms. I spent so much time seeing the god and good in some abusive people. Neglecting my needs and self-worth,” Lennox wrote.

“No more tip-toeing. No more docile. Providing grace and compassion for myself. Blocking those that no longer serve me or just literally not responding. Blocking the resistance to heal. Allowing accountability and maturing. Allowing growth to happen,” she added.

Last Wednesday (Aug. 31), Lennox surprised fans with a five-track EP, Away Message. “Off the internet until September 9 so here’s my away message to you all 😘. New EP to hold you over until the album, love ya❤️,” she wrote.

Away Message includes her Summer Walker-assisted song “Queen Space.”
