Ari Lennox stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night (Sept. 20) to perform songs from her new album age/sex/location.
Styled in a sparkling cutout mini dress, Lennox kicked off the mellow four-minute set with “POF,” the album’s opening song. J. Cole, DŹŁ and Wu10 had co-songwriting and co-production credits for the track.
The Washington, D.C., native closed her set with “Waste My Time,” which summoned whistles and applause from the in-studio audience.

Age/sex/location was released on Sept. 9 via Dreamville/Interscope Records, following Lennox’s surprise EP, Away Message. The album debuted on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart the week of Sept. 24 at No. 13. It also entered the Billboard 200 at No. 69.
Of the 12 songs, age/sex/location included the previously shared “Pressure,” “Hoodie,” and “Queen Space” featuring Summer Walker.
The former track, co-produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox, and Elite, topped the R&B charts, including radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It marked Lennox’s first chart-topper on both lists. The song was also certified gold by the RIAA, with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.

According to Lennox, age/sex/location represents “the transition space before my current eat pray love journey.” Chlöe and Lucky Daye also make appearances on the album.
Age/sex/location follows Lennox’s 2019 debut LP, Shea Butter Baby, which ranked at No. 1 on Rated R&B’s Best R&B Albums of 2019 list.
The title track, which features J. Cole, became her first platinum-selling single. Tracks “BMO” and “Whipped Cream” were each certified gold, selling over 500,000 equivalent units.
On Oct. 29, Lennox will appear on Babyface‘s forthcoming album Girls Night Out.
