BET has moved the premiere date of the 2022 Soul Train Awards. It will air Saturday, Nov. 26, at 8 p.m. ET simultaneously on BET, BET Her, Logo, MTV2 and VH1.

The event was initially scheduled to air Sunday, Nov. 27. The company did not reveal why it changed the ceremony’s original run date. However, it did share its list of presenters and hosts of the red carpet special.

Lucky Daye, Queen Naija, JB Smoove, Michelle Mitchenor and Mark Tallman are among those presenting trophies at the 2022 Soul Train Awards.

Daye, nominated for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, released his sophomore album Candydrip in March. The album was preceded by the Musiq Soulchild-sampled single “Over” and the Lil Durk-assisted “NWA.”

He appeared on albums by Syd (Broken Hearts Club), Alicia Keys (KEYS II), Megan Thee Stallion (Traumazine) and Ari Lennox (age/sex/location).

In late October, Queen Naija concluded her time on the road for Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous Tour.

She supported her 2020 debut album, Missunderstood, and her recent chart-topping single “Hate Our Love.” The Big Sean-assisted track is nominated for Best Collaboration.

Tank, LeToya Luckett and Novi Brown will host the Soul Train Awards Red Carpet Special. It will broadcast at 7 p.m. ET.

Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige lead this year’s Soul Train Awards nominations with seven nods each, followed by Ari Lennox (6) and Chris Brown (5).

Morris Day & The Time will receive the Legend Award and Xscape will be presented with the Lady of Soul Award.

J. Valentine joins the previously-announced main stage performance lineup, including Lennox, Tank, Muni Long, SiR, and Chanté Moore. Coco Jones and Q will perform as the BET Amplified stage acts.

Long will also participate in the Soul Cypher, along with Alex Vaughn, Durand Bernarr and gospel singer Tasha Cobbs Leonard.

The 2022 Soul Train Awards will be hosted by actor/comedian Deon Cole.
