Mary J. Blige made her triumphant return to the 65th Grammy Awards, where she performed an epic rendition of “Good Morning Gorgeous.”

Donning a Jean-Louis Sabaji dress and a big brim hat, Blige delivered a flawless take of her chart-topping hit, which she co-wrote with Tiara Thomas, Lucky Daye, H.E.R. and D’Mile.

Later in her performance, Blige was joined by a choir to help amplify the powerful message in the song.

“Good Morning Gorgeous” was the dual lead single from Blige’s 2022 album Good Morning Gorgeous.

Released with the DJ Khaled-assisted “Amazing,” the empowering anthem went to No. 1 on the R&B charts, marking Blige’s seventh on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

“She was just mad cool. It was crazy being in the studio with Mary J. Blige. She was really involved in the songwriting process and what she wanted to write about,” Thomas told Rated R&B.

“We didn’t even know she was gonna name the album [Good Morning Gorgeous]. That was just the name of the song. When the album came out, that’s when I saw that the album was called Good Morning Gorgeous. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s fire.'”

Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe) is the extended edition of the 15th studio album that Blige released on Feb. 11, 2022, just two days ahead of her Emmy-winning Super Bowl 56 Pepsi Halftime Show performance along with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and more.

The new version of Good Morning Gorgeous tacked on the “Good Morning Gorgeous (Remix)” featuring H.E.R., who co-wrote and co-produced the track.

It also included the Anderson .Paak-featured “Here With Me,” a single that caught fire on the R&B charts and was nominated for Best R&B Performance.

Usher, Fivio Foreign, DJ Khaled and Dave East also all appeared on the standard and deluxe version of Good Morning Gorgeous. Meanwhile, Ne-Yo, H.E.R., Remy Ma, Moneybagg Yo, Fabolous, Jadakiss and Griselda featured on the latter edition.

Blige received six Grammy nominations this year, including Best R&B Album (Good Morning Gorgeous [Deluxe]) and Album of the Year (Good Morning Gorgeous [Deluxe]).
