Melodic country rapper Justin Champagne has teamed with Puddin (a.k.a K. Michelle) for a new collaboration, “Country Love Song.”
On the openhearted track, Puddin balances a contemporary R&B edge and a certain radio-friendly twang, as she and Champagne sing about Southern love.
“You’re the one that I’m feelin’ / I won’t ever let you go / I just think you need to know / I don’t even need a reason / Give you whatever you want / When you call, I’ma come running,” she sings.
“Country Love Song” is said to be Puddin’s official country debut. As K. Michelle, she has flirted with several country-inspired songs, from “If It Ain’t Love” from More Issue Than Vogue to “Run Don’t Walk,” taken from Kimberly: The People I Used to Know.
K. Michelle has been hard at work completing the country album she announced in March 2019. It has been reported that she entered the studio with Billy Ray Cyrus, Eric Paslay and Dolly Parton. She confirmed that the latter country legend wrote a song for the untitled album, slated to arrive later this year.
In a recent People.com interview, the Memphis, Tennessee, native added two other names to the country album’s list of collaborators: Morgan Wallen and ERNEST.
Speaking of ERNEST, K. Michelle said, “He’s one of my greatest friends in the music industry. He wrote with me on a majority of my country album that’s coming out.”

Of the I’m The Problem, K. Michelle told Rated R&B: “I’ve been healing through this album. I have dealt with my relationship through this album. I have dealt with my relationship with my son through this album. I have dealt with where I want to go in my future through this album. I’m at a crossroads in my life right now.”
“Scooch,” the lead single from I’m The Problem, became her first No. 1 on R&B radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart last summer.
