Brent Faiyaz New Album Wasteland

Lost Kids

Brent Faiyaz has achieved eight new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

His second album, Wasteland, is now certified platinum for selling one million equivalent units. It marks Faiyaz’s first platinum-selling album to date. It was first certified gold in November 2020 after tallying 500,000 equivalent units.

Faiyaz’s Drake-assisted single “Wasting Time,” produced by The Neptunes, is also now platinum certified. The song was crowned gold in December of last year. In August 2021, Faiyaz scored his first top 10 hit at urban radio with “Wasting Time,” entering at No. 8.

“Dead Man Walking,” another Wasteland single, is now 2x multi-platinum with two million equivalent units sold.

Faiyaz also received RIAA plaques for the following songs:

  • “Clouded,” 2x-platinum (2 million equivalent units sold)
  • “F*ck The World (Summer In London),” platinum (1 million equivalent units sold)
  • “Talk 2 U,” gold (500,000 equivalent units sold) wonder son
  • “Gang Over Luv,” platinum (1 million equivalent units sold)
  • “Trust,” 2x-platinum (2 million equivalent units sold)

“Clouded” and “F**k The World (Summer In London)” appear on Faiyaz’s gold-selling 2020 project, F*ck The World.

The fan-favorite “Trust” is lifted from Faiyaz’s 2018 EP, Lost. The song has over 405 million streams on Spotify and is Faiyaz’s most-streamed song on that platform to date.

“Talk 2 U” and “Gang Over Luv” are lifted from his 2017 debut album, Sonder Son.

Circling back to Wasteland, the album was released July 8, 2022, via Faiyaz’s Lost Kids label. It debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Wasteland sold 88,000 equivalent units in the first week.

Faiyaz is set to play at ONE Musicfest on Sunday, Oct. 29, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Rap star Kendrick Lamar will headline that night, with additional performances by The-Dream, Coco Jones, El DeBarge, Durand Bernarr, Tems and more. Music icon Janet Jackson will headline night one on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Before his ONE Musicfest gig, Faiyaz will launch the U.K./European leg of his F*ck The World, It’s a Wasteland Tour on Oct. 16 in Leeds, U.K. He will play four other shows before returning to the U.S. for ONE Musicfest. Then, Faiyaz will head back across the pond to complete the rest of his tour, which concludes Nov. 20 at Eventim Apollo in London.
