Mario has issued a new song, “Glad You Came,” the title track to his approaching sixth album.
He co-wrote it with the song’s producers James Fauntleroy and Quintin Gulledge.
“This song is about the journey of love and intimacy where I’m letting my lady know I’m paying attention to what makes her feel free in intimacy,” Mario says about “Glad You Came.” “I will never let her go without being pleased. Imagination and creativity goes a long way when the connection is real.”
“Glad You Came” arrives with a video directed by BenMarc. In the clip, Mario performs for an audience of one, a woman who appears to be his love interest.
“Glad You Came” is the second single from Mario’s upcoming album, which releases Dec. 13 via New Citizen/Epic Records. The song follows the BNYX-produced “Space,” which was released Sept. 27.
“Space” debuted on the Billboard Adult R&B Airplay chart dated for Oct. 26, marking his first entry in six years. At publication time, “Space” is No. 16 on the chart that’s led by Tyrese’s “Wildflower.”
Mario’s forthcoming album, Glad You Came, is the follow-up to his 2018 album, Dancing Shadows, which included the singles “Drowning” and “Dancing Shadows.”
Mario will join the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, on her headlining For My Fans Tour, which begins Jan. 30, 2025, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The 27-city trek will visit Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Baltimore, and more before concluding on April 14 in Boston.
