Brent Faiyaz has scored two new awards from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
First up, his Coco Jones-assisted “Moment of Your Life” has been certified gold for exceeding 500,000 equivalent sales units in the U.S.
It marks Jones’ second certification from the RIAA, following her hit “ICU,” which was certified platinum in August for selling over one million units.
On Billboard, “Moment of Your Life,” which samples Nicole Wray’s “Boy You Should Listen,” peaked at No. 8 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. On Spotify, the song has garnered over 70 million streams.
Faiyaz has also landed a gold certification for “Upset” featuring Tommy Richman and FELIX! The nonchalant bop, produced by Richman and Mannyvelli, peaked at No. 6 on the Hot R&B Songs chart and has over 130 million Spotify streams.
“Moment of Your Life” and “Upset” both appear on Faiyaz’s 2023 mixtape, Larger Than Life. The project also included popular tracks such as “Best Time,” “Forever Yours,” and “WY@.” The latter tune was certified gold in September.
Larger Than Life included additional appearances from Missy Elliott, A$AP Rocky, Babyface Ray, Lil Gray, NEWYRKLA, and more.
In other news, Faiyaz recently teamed with Wizkid on “Piece of My Heart,” which appears on the Nigerian star’s latest album, Morayo. The album also includes his Jazmine Sullivan-assisted “Bad For You.”
As for Coco Jones, her single “Here We Go (Uh Oh)” reached No. 1 at R&B radio this week. It marks her first chart-topper on this airplay format.
“Here We Go” is nominated in two categories at the 2025 Grammy Awards, including Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.
In late November, the Grammy-winning singer released her first holiday EP, Coco By The Fireplace. The project consists of four original songs, including “Santa Is Me.”
Jones is gearing up to release her debut album in 2025. The forthcoming project will include the singles “Here We Go (Uh Oh),” “Sweep It Up” and “Most Beautiful Design” featuring Future and London On Da Track.
