After much anticipation, Baby Rose has released her sophomore album, Through and Through, via Secretly Canadian. The singer-songwriter announced the album with the song “I Won’t Tell” with rapper Smino.
Three other tracks were released ahead of Through and Through. First, Rose debuted “Fight Club” featuring Georgia Anne Muldrow” in October 2022. Simultaneously, she shared the official studio version of “Go, a track she initially uploaded to Dropbox as an exclusive in July 2021.
In March, Rose unveiled the heart-tugging ballad “Stop the Bleeding.” It was rolled out with its official video, directed by Audrey Ellis Fox.
Excluding the pre-releases, Rose leaves room for new music, including the latest focus track, “Dance With Me.” She issues its accompanying visual in tandem with Through and Through digital drop.
Rose says her new album “means everything” to her. “Through and Through shows different sides of me; pieces to make up a whole. I dive through different sonic spaces, sometimes genres, to honor different phases of my journey.”
She adds, “In a cyclical way, it serves as a reminder that everything, good and bad, is necessary, and every iteration of me deserves peace.”
Through and Through is the follow-up to Rose’s 2019 debut album, To Myself. The featureless album contained ten tracks, including “In Your Arms” and “Borderline,” both trending on Spotify.
After To Myself made Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2019 list, Rose reissued the record with three new songs. Among the bonus tracks were “Marmot” and “August 5th.”
Rose will be going on tour in support of Through and Through. She co-headlines the Through the Soul Tour alongside emerging act Q. The North American trek starts May 28 in Toronto, Canada, and concludes June 25 in Washington, D.C.
In addition to playing dates with Q, Rose appears on his forthcoming album, Soul, PRESENT, which is out May 5 via Boy Meets Euphoria/Columbia Records. The song is titled “Understand,” and it’s available across various streaming platforms.
Earlier this year, Rose contributed the song “Heavy Is The Head” to Creed III: The Soundtrack.
