Leela James’ latest album, Thought U Knew, has arrived via She Sangz Music/BMG.
The nine-track album includes the previously released song “Right Back In It” and the title track.
Regarding the former track, also the lead single, James previously said, “My music is my art and I’m always excited to share my craft with the world. ‘Right Back In It’ is special as it highlights the importance of getting back to yourself, getting back to love, and getting back to what makes you feel good.”

“Right Back In It,” produced by Rex Rideout, entered in the top 10 of Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart earlier this month. At this publishing, it’s No. 8.
James released the title track as the second single, accompanied by an official video inspired by the 1996 cult classic Set It Off.
Elsewhere on Thought U Knew, James compliments her man on “Good On Me,” while she confronts his infidelity on “If I Was Your Woman,” produced by Camper.

Thought U Knew is the follow-up to James’ 2021 album, See Me, also released on BMG. The LP contained the chart-topping single “Complicated,” which spent three weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart that autumn.
See Me also included a feature from Muni Fresh on the opener ‘Break My Soul,” which received an official video.
See Me was among Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list.
Circling back to Thought U Knew, the seasoned singer is currently on a global tour to promote the album until Oct. 28.
James will continue performing concerts in North America starting from Nov. 24 in New Orleans.
Furthermore, James will have additional shows in winter 2024, including a set on Maxwell’s Urban Hang Suite Cruise. For more ticket information, visit leelajames.com.
