Mary J. Blige is wasting no time. Hours after releasing her new single “Still Believe in Love” featuring Vado, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul unveils the official video.
The breezy video, co-directed by Blige and Eif Rivera, was filmed during her vacation with friends and family on a yacht in Italy.
Throughout, Blige is seen wearing gaudy jewelry and singing the feel-good jam on different parts of the boat, while doing her signature two-step to Vado’s verses.
“Still Believe In Love” was recently released on Blige’s record label, Beautiful Life Music.
The song, co-produced by DJ Cassidy and Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, has already caught fire on R&B radio. It was the most added new song for this week, with 30 additions, and it reached 34th position on this format.
It’s Blige’s first proper single since last year’s “Here With Me” featuring Anderson .Paak.
The song, nominated for Best R&B Performance at this year’s Grammys, reached No. 4 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
“Here With Me” is a song from Blige’s album Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe), which was released in May 2022.
The standard version of the album was released in winter 2022, coinciding with her co-headlining performance at Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show, for which she won an Emmy.
Included on Good Morning Gorgeous was the self-love anthem title track, co-written and co-produced by H.E.R. and D’Mile.
Other contributors included Tiara Thomas and Lucky Daye. The song received multiple accolades and nominations, including a BET HER Award and going No. 1 on R&B charts.
Good Morning Gorgeous was Blige’s first independent album, released through her label Beautiful Life Music in partnership with 300 Entertainment.
The deluxe version included collaborations with Usher, Ne-Yo, DJ Khaled, Fivio Foreign, Remy Ma, Moneybagg Yo and more.
Blige is preparing for a headlining show at the inaugural Honeyland Festival in Sugar Land, Texas, on Nov. 12th.
Tems, Lucky Daye, Coco Jones and more are also set to perform on day two of the event.
