It’s been a while since we heard from Ashanti. The R&B vet has teamed with Ty Dolla $ign for her new single “Say Less.”
The bouncy track was produced by DJ Mustard and, of course, includes West Coast influences.
“Like get in my face, say less (say less) / If it ain’t about the money, say less (say less) / If he ain’t from the clique, say less / Bitch, say less,” Ashanti sings.
“Say Less” is the first single Ashanti has released since her Braveheart era in 2014. Earlier this year, she told Harper’s Bazaar about a song called “Lose Yourself.”
“The song is incredible,” she teased. “I played it in one of the venues during soundcheck out here and the whole venue was like, ‘Holy sh*t, is that Ashanti’s new record?! No way!’ I’m just really excited about it.”
