Blooming singer-songwriter Arin Ray is back with Phases II, the sequel to his 2016 EP of the same name.
Rounding out at a little under 16 minutes, the project features Ray’s signature style of minimalist, yet ambient soul. The X-Factor finalist shows off his impressive writing and production skills on nearly every song on Phases II.
On “Changes,” featuring fellow R&B titan Kehlani, Ray croons about the back and forth of a relationship he just can’t seem to shake.
Ray croons on the song’s chorus, “’Cause when we break up, uh / Can’t wait to make up / Girl, you know / Some things will never change.”
The Cincinnati-born artist teased the long-awaited EP with the release of “Changes” back in August, as well as “A Seat” in October.
The project also serves as a follow-up to Ray’s debut album Platinum Fire, released back in 2018.
