Nearly a year after releasing her official debut single “Motivation,” Normani has earned her first platinum solo single.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the New Orleans native has sold over one million units of her bouncy anthem, which was co-written by Ariana Grande. It has over 313 million combined streams on Spotify and YouTube alone.
“Motivation” was expected to be the first offering from Normani’s debut album. However, there is no official information available on the status of the highly awaited project.
While Normani has been relatively quiet about keeping her fans in the loop about her music, she did reassure fans that she is still working. On August 6, she posted a photo of her at the studio with the caption, “Told you I still make songs.”
In other news, Normani recently appeared in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap” video. Her cameo was met with praise by other high-profile stars, such as actress Halle Berry.
