After giving fans a savory taste of her new single “Chocolate Pomegranate” for Genius’ Open Mic series, Ari Lennox unseals the official audio packaging for more palates to enjoy.
Covered in a smooth blend of psychedelic jazz, produced by The Vintage Vxndals (Joey Bada$$, Wiz Khalifa) and frequent collaborator Elite, the Dreamville frontwoman employs her signature retro-soul tone to delight her man in the ultimate chocolate experience.
It has yet to be announced if “Chocolate Pomegranate” is the lead single for her sophomore album. Lennox released her debut record and Rated R&B’s best R&B album of 2019 Shea Butter Baby last year May. It featured the gold-selling title track, as well as “Up Late” featuring Masego and the milky “Whipped Cream.”
As we wait for more details on her next project, Lennox remains a collaboration magnet. She recently linked up with Anthony Ramos for the remake of “If You Want Me To Stay” by Sly and the Family Stone. She also lent her unique voice to Skip Marley’s mid-tempo summer bop “Make Me Feel,” and Nasty C’s smooth and mellow “Black and White.”
