Ever thought to yourself while in a relationship that you chose the wrong friend? Kiana Ledé journeys through this in her video for “Ur Best Friend” with Kehlani, who directed it as part of Honey Shot Productions.
The video finds Ledé at a Kehlani-hosted birthday party for her boyfriend, played by Vic Mensa. Following Kehlani’s toast to the birthday boy, the video flashes back to a steamy conversation between Ledé and Kehlani while Mensa is unaware of their affair.
Throughout the rest of the party, the tension between Kehlani and Lede builds up until it climaxes. Watch the video above to find out what else when down.
“Ur Best Friend” kicks off a new era for Ledé, who is preparing for the release of her sophomore album. She released her debut album KIKI last spring and followed it with an expanded edition featuring seven new songs later.
Ledé has been involved with a slew of collaborations this year, including D-Nice’s “Rather Be,” Emotional Oranges’ “Give Me Up,” and THEY’s “Count Me In.” She also appeared on Femme It Forward’s compilation project Big Femme Energy, Vol. 1.
Apart from this song, Kehlani collaborated with T-Pain for “I Like Dat,” which has its own video. In addition, she appeared on Ant Clemons’ latest track, “Section.”
