UMI is onto her third song released from her upcoming debut album, Forest in the City. The warm, reflective “Moonlit Room” was co-produced by Mack Keane, Veronica Vera, and Mia Garcia.
On “Moonlit Room,” UMI has different reasons why the person of interest has her heart in their hands. For starters, she sees a lot of herself in them, which partly is her motive for sticking it out instead of walking away when it gets too hard.
“Tears on my shirt / ‘Cause I loved you at your worst / Look into my eyes / Let me know you listen / ‘Cause you never listening,” she sings.
As indicated above, “Moonlit Room” is the third song UMI has rolled out ahead of Forest in the City, which releases May 26 via Keep Cool/RCA Records. The first two songs released were “Sorry” and “Whatever U Like.”
Forest in the City is UMI’s first project since last year’s Introspection Reimagined. That project was an extension of Introspection, an EP she released in 2020 amid the pandemic.
“May this album touch the world and bring a frequency of peace to you[.] May Forest in the City evoke a spark [,] a remembering of who we truly are,” UMI wrote on Instagram.
Starting on May 28, UMI will embark on the headlining Forest in a City Tour. The multi-date run makes stops in major cities such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, Atlanta, and Chicago, to name a few.
