Just in time for cuffing season, Ari Lennox has released the official video for “POF,” the opening song from her sophomore album age/sex/location. It was directed by Mez for Heirs with a co-direction assist from Panola Rhode.
The new visual for “POF” picks up where the video for “Hoodie,” the album’s second single, left off, with Lennox at a local market and realizing she isn’t the only woman on Isaiah Rashad’s bountiful roster.
It starts with a distraught but still lovely-looking Lennox lying across her bed. Her phone pings with text notifications encouraging her to move on.

She eventually does, taking dates with obnoxious guys, one being rapper Smino, who joins her for a mini-golf double date. Most of those potential suitors she entertained were found on the dating app similar to the one of the song’s title.
After Lennox’s dates are complete duds, comedian Khadi invites her to go shopping the following afternoon. You’ll never believe who she runs into at the store.
Noted earlier, “POF” is lifted from age/sex/location, the follow-up to Lennox’s 2019 debut album Shea Butter Baby. She performed it and “Waste My Time” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Age/sex/location comprises 12 songs, including the lead single “Pressure,” which shot to No. 1 on the R&B charts earlier this year. It inked her first chart leader. The track, co-produced by Jermaine Dupri, Bryan-Michael Cox and Elite, is now certified gold by the RIAA, with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.
Her new album also includes the Summer Walker-assisted “Queen Space.” It appeared first on Away Message, a surprise EP she shared a week before the new album. It also premiered the around the same time “Unloyal,” a collaboration between the two divas, topped the R&B charts, including radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.
Lucky Daye and Chlöe also appear on age/sex/location. The album entered Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart the week of Sept. 24 at No. 13 and debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard 200.
Lennox described the new album as “the transition space before my current eat pray love journey.”
On Oct. 21, Lennox will guest on Babyface’s Capitol Records debut Girl’s Night Out.
