Ella Mai can deck the halls with two new gold plaques from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) this season.
“Gut Feeling” featuring H.E.R. and “Everything” with John Legend has been certified gold, with 500,000 units sold for each. Both tracks appear on her platinum-selling self-titled album, which was nominated for Best R&B Album in 2020.
Mai has already scored big with other gold and platinum certifications for songs from her first album, including “Shot Clock” (platinum), “Whatchamacallit” (gold), “Trip” (3x platinum), and “Boo’d Up” (5x platinum).
Back in October, Mai released her return single “Not Another Love Song.” She followed the song release with an enthralling music video to match. A month later, she performed the glossy tune at the 2020 Soul Train Awards.
Mai is in the studio working on her highly-anticipated sophomore album.
