Ari Lennox Makes ‘Whipped Cream’ Taste Sweeter with Acoustic Performance

Ari Lennox’s voice is amazing. The Dreamville signee allows us to hear it in its purest form with an acoustic performance of her new single “Whipped Cream.”

Backed by guitarist Joe Endozo, Lennox leaves out the artificial additives or preservatives and whisk the milky song with her authentic vocals, making it sound richer and creamier than its audio recording.

“It’s so special to me ’cause it’s literally from my heart, and it’s just about seeing my ex everywhere after trying to get over him,” she told Zane Lowe about the song. “So it’s kind of like bittersweet, but it’s my therapy.”

Last month, Lennox had a minor meltdown on Twitter about the state of her career. She even insisted that she was “literally done” with music after having “nothing more to write.”

We hope her acoustic performance means she’s on the right track again.
