Over a truck-rattling instrumentation, this street tale finds Sammie singing about a particular female friend who tells him intimate stories about her pain-inflicting boyfriend.
Wanting to show her that she deserves more, Sammie believes that he is the man who can do just that. But, like he coos on the chorus, she has him “in the friend zone.”
“Friend Zone” follows Sammie’s Send Nudes EP, which was released last December via Star Camp Music / EMPIRE.
Sammie has more to cheer about than a new single. His self-titled sophomore album has been remastered and uploaded to iTunes after nearly 14 years.
