It seems like forever since we last heard from Donell Jones but the R&B vet is gearing up to release new music. He recently announced his plans to treat his fans to not one, but two new albums very soon.
The first album is set to arrive on November 11. Although he hasn’t revealed a title yet, he did share other exciting updates about the impending project.
“I’m excited about making new music for y’all and I promise it will be a masterpiece and the best part is this album will be completely free to download from my website,” Jones wrote on Instagram. “It’s my gift to you for rocking with me for all these years. This will be my 7th studio album”
Jones also confirmed that he has another album slated to arrive in 2021. He added, “God Bless y’all and God bless me and I promise to never keep you waiting this long again but I had to work on me and change a few things in my life… I’M BACK!”
Jones’ next album will follow his 2013 LP, Forever. In a past interview with Rated R&B, he compared Forever to his critically-acclaimed sophomore album, Where I Wanna Be.
“I would say Where I Wanna Be was my most personal album that I put out and Forever is no different than that,” Jones said. “Everything about Where I Wanna Be, I lived every moment of that and that’s why those songs are so personal. [Forever] is just the same. It’s my life, my struggles, growing up…life in general. I really feel like those two albums really do compare as far as me being a songwriter, musician and person.”
