H.E.R.’s 2020 single “Damage” continues to impact the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The Herb Alpert-sampled track has been certified 2x multi-platinum by the RIAA with more than two million equivalent units sold. The emotional tune, which has 97 million streams on Spotify, first reached platinum status last May.

H.E.R.’s latest RIAA award marks her fourth certification in 2022 alone.

The Grammy-winning singer, who was recently honored with the Impact Award at Billboard Women in Music, collected two gold plaques for her contribution to Chris Brown’s “Come Together” and Jazmine Sullivan’s “Girl Like Me.”

“Focus,” lifted from H.E.R.’s Vol 1 EP, was certified 2x multi-platinum in February. She now has a total of six multi-platinum singles, including “Slide” featuring YG (3x), “Best Part” featuring Daniel Caesar (5x), “Could’ve Been” featuring Bryson Tiller (2x) and Jhené Aiko’s “B.S.” featuring H.E.R. (2x).

“Damage” appears on H.E.R.’s Grammy-nominated debut album, Back of My Mind. The 21-track LP features guest appearances from Chris Brown, Ty Dolla $ign, Thundercat.

Rated R&B ranked Back of My Mind at No. 5 on its 30 Best R&B Albums of 2021 list. Keithan Samuels noted, “Back of My Mind is a conscientiously crafted album that finds H.E.R. sorting through her range of emotions. It’s easily one of the most dynamic debut projects of the year.”
