Rising singer Maeta has revealed the official tracklist and credits for her forthcoming project, When I Hear Your Name, out June 9 via Roc Nation Records.
When I Hear Your Name will contain 13 tracks, including the previously shared “S(EX)” and Lucky Daye-penned “Through The Night” featuring Free Nationals.
Regarding the latter track, Maeta said, “Working with Lucky was so much fun. I’ve never worked with such an amazing vocal producer. We played games, talked shit and had a really fun time. But when it was time to work, he made sure I was on point.”
In addition to Free Nationals, Daye, Ty Dolla $ign, Ambré and James Fauntleroy, will make guest appearances.
When I Hear Your Name features songwriting from The-Dream, SZA, Freddie Mercury, Kehlani, Demi Lovato, Destin Conrad, Ant Clemons, Elijah Blake, Fallon King and more.
The project will include production from The-Dream, Camper, KAYTRANADA, OG Parker, Oak Felder, Charlotte Day Wilson, DJ Dahi, Louie Lastic, 1500 or Nothin’ and more.
No additional information has been shared about Maeta’s upcoming project.
When I Hear Your Name will follow Maeta’s debut EP, Habits, released in 2021. The seven-track project includes previously released songs “Teen Scene” featuring Buddy and “Toxic” featuring BEAM as well as an appearance from Leven Kali.
“My EP, Habits, is about everything that comes with being in a toxic relationship – love, anger, sex, growth, self-esteem,” Maeta previously stated. “I was finding my way through one during the making of this project, so it was like therapy for me during that time. I’m so excited for everyone to hear this project, and my hope is that people connect with the music and feel uplifted, healed, and understood.”
Since Habits, Maeta has hopped on tracks by Tone Stith, RINI and Vic Mensa (with Thundercat) and shared standalone tracks (“You Lie” and “Frank For You“).
