If style had a name, it would be Kelly Rowland. The mom of two has shared a music video for her delicate track, “Flowers.”
The Lloyd Pursall-directed video opens in a chillingly beautiful way, following Rowland, clad in an eccentric red outfit, walking down the hall of a black-and-white room.
With her baby bump visibly adding the extra glow to her buttery skin, Rowland sways into another room where motionless, beautiful Black humans, seemingly still in different phases of their lives, are under white coverings.
Once uncovered and a few strokes of paint to their faces, their breaths are restored, and they rise to tell a compelling story through dance.
“Flowers” is an eye-opening track for Rowland, who tied its heartfelt significance to giving birth to her son Titan one week and the next unexpectedly losing her mother. The song is featured on her latest project, K, out now via her imprint KTR Records Inc.
The six-track EP includes the empowering “Black Magic” and the “Crazy” disco number inspired by the late Donna Summer.
