Babyface and Ella Mai turn to Netflix’s Bridgerton as inspiration for their “Keeps On Fallin‘” video, directed by Ava Rikki.
A well-dressed Babyface opens the video in a parlor where he’s conducting the music to Tevin Campbell’s 1993 classic “Can We Talk” with a small ensemble.
Next, the camera finds a gussied-up Mai in a ladies-only chamber, rummaging through a jewelry box and spraying on perfume to compliment her elaborate fashions.
The pair meet up in the corridor before joining Grammy-winning comedian Tiffany Haddish and actor Kendrick Sampson at a posh dinner.

“Keeps On Fallin’” is the lead single from Babyface’s upcoming album, Girls’ Night Out, due Oct. 21. The song reached the top 10 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart last month, marking his second this year behind Charlie Wilson’s “No Stoppin’ Us” on which he, K-Ci Hailey and Johnny Gill are featured.
On Aug. 12, Babyface teamed with Kehlani for “Seamless,” the second single from Girls’ Night Out. Ari Lennox, Queen Naija and Doechii, among others, are slated to appear on his forthcoming album.
Girls’ Night Out will serve as Babyface’s first album for Capitol Records. His last album, Return of the Tender Lover, was released in 2015 on Def Jam.
Starting Sept. 17, Ella Mai heads out on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous Tour to support Heart On My Sleeve.
Her 2022 sophomore album arrived in May, featuring appearances by Lucky Daye, Latto and Roddy Rich. She shared “Not Another Love Song” and “DFMU” as radio singles ahead of the album. The latter tune topped both R&B radio and the Adult R&B list.
Most recently, Mai released a performance of “Hide” presented by Pandora. It appears on Heart On My Sleeve.
