Eric Benét has enlisted Tamar Braxton for a new duet, “Something We Can Make Love To,” via JBR Creative Group.
On the seductive track, helmed by Laney Stewart, Benét and Braxton exchange steamy verses about craving intimacy with a special person in the bedroom.
“I’ma give your body what it wants / ‘Cause baby I got so much to prove / I’m coming for you,” Benét croons in the first verse.
Braxton appears in verse two, singing, “I could never have too much of you / My love for you / I’m ready whenever you call / Here to do whatever you want.”
Speaking on “Something We Can Make Love To,” Benét tells Rated R&B, “We went down to Atlanta and hung out with Tricky Stewart and Laney Stewart. Laney presented this song to us and we thought it was perfect.”
He continues, “I can’t take credit for any of the writing, but it was one of those songs when I first heard it, I was like, ‘Oh, yeah, this feels like it could fit in the whole family of Eric Benét’s music. But also, it feels like something that right now, in a very timely way. It feels classic and romantic and could definitely work as a first single.”

“Something We Can Make Love To” is the lead single from Benét’s upcoming duets album. It will mark Benét’s first project since his 2016 self-titled album.
Eric Benét featured the lead single “Sunshine,” which reached No. 2 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, and the Prince-inspired “Insane.”
Speaking on his self-titled album, Benét explained to Rated R&B, “Every album I do, I don’t really give it a title until I’m able to live with it for a while after it’s recorded. This album, for me, when I lived with it and listened to it, was such a great representation of me musically.”
He added, “Not only being on my own label, but just recording in my own studio on the time frame that I wanted to do it with the [people] I wanted to work with. The whole thing underscored everything about me creatively. It just seemed very appropriate for it to be self-titled.”

In March, Braxton released her latest single, “Notice Me,” two days before her birthday. She co-wrote the emotive tune with Amber Dion Smith, Donald Sales, and Nyerere Davidson. “Notice Me” opened at No. 2 on Billboard’s R&B Digital Song Sales chart.
In 2023, Braxton dropped her SWV-inspired single, “Changed” on her birthday (March 17). It spent 29 weeks on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart, peaking at No. 2.
