Normani’s freshly-released single “Candy Paint” is already making a splash on Billboard.
The R&B-pop star’s new summer banger debuts at No. 2 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, currently led by Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby.” It’s Normani’s fifth consecutive top 5 hit since 2018’s “Waves” featuring 6LACK. It’s worth noting out of Normani’s seven entries on this chart, four of them have landed in the top two spots.
Here’s a breakdown of Normani’s top 5 hits on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, in order by peak:
- “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, No. 1 for one week (2021)
- “Fair,” No. 1 for one week (2022)
- “1:59” featuring Gunna, No. 2 peak (2024)
- “Candy Paint,” No. 2 peak so far (2024)

“Candy Paint” is the second single, following “1:59,” from Normani’s highly anticipated debut album, Dopamine, out June 14 on RCA Records.
“I feel like [Dopamine] embodies everything I wanted to say – it feels dominant, strong, assertive – but on the flipside, there are so many layers to it. You get the highs, the lows, the thrill of it all. And it’s a little toxic, too,” Normani told Dazed in a recent interview.
