During the Missunderstood campaign, Queen Naija promoted three singles: “Pack Lite,” “Lie To Me” featuring Lil Durk, and “Butterflies, Pt. 2,” which is a sequel to her 2018 platinum single.
The latter track was released as the album’s lead single and was remixed multiple times, including an acoustic edit and a version featuring Wale.
“Butterflies, Pt. 2” spent one week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart and topped R&B radio, formerly known as urban adult contemporary radio. It is also certified gold.
In July 2020, Queen Naija released the second pre-album single, “Pack Lite,” which was accompanied by two different music videos, one of which was directed by Teyana Taylor.
“Pack Lite” went gold in April 2021 and later advanced to platinum in May of this year.
Additionally, “Lie To Me” was released with the album announcement and an official video followed. With over 21 million streams on Spotify, the collaboration with Lil Durk scored gold certification in September 2021.
Missunderstood, released Oct. 30, 2020, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, with 34,000 equivalent album units sold in its first week. It also entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 9.
Queen Naija’s latest musical output was the recent “No Fake Love” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again. This song is a follow-up to her two other 2023 releases, namely “Words of Affirmation” and “Let’s Talk About It.”
All three songs were released after a highly successful 2022, during which Queen Naija toured as a supporting act on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous Tour and recorded a song with Babyface.
She also achieved a gold award for her fourth No. 1 single, “Hate Our Love,” which features Big Sean.
